Message to Competitors

Dear Competitors,

Joondalup Festival of Motoring 2025 – Motorsport Authority Update

We would like to advise you of a change to the sanctioning body for JFOM 2025. The event will now be held under the authority of AASA (Australian Auto-Sport Alliance), rather than Motorsport Australia.

We understand this update comes later than ideal, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. After careful consideration, we are confident this change will have no material impact on your competitor experience.

What’s not changing:

• The event format remains the same.
• All safety, medical, and rescue requirements will be upheld to the same high standards.
• Our senior officials will remain unchanged.
• All relevant permits and approvals are in place.

The Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form will be reissued to reflect the new sanctioning body. However, the content and structure of the event remain unchanged. The event will now run under the AASA Regulations – aasa.com.au/event-information.

Competition Licences

• If you have a Motorsport Australia licence this will be acknowledged by AASA for JFOM 2025, but new disclaimers will be required at documentation.
• If you don’t have a licence yet – please apply for one via the AASA website.
• AASA Day Licences are acceptable https://aasa.com.au/licences/day-licences/  ($50)
• AASA Tarmac Rally Licenses are acceptable.
• AASA General Speed Event Licenses are acceptable https://aasa.com.au/licences/general-speed-event-licence/

Car Club Memberships

While we always encourage active participation in car clubs, it is not a requirement for entry.

Vehicle Categories – Some Important Updates

• Electric vehicles are now eligible.
• Convertibles with suitable rollover protection will be accepted – please contact us directly before submitting your entry to confirm eligibility.
